Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising - after years of police raids and harassment, a group of patrons (mostly trans women and homeless youth of color) fought back against police brutality. This event was honored by community-led Christopher Street Liberation Day, which eventually turned into the Pride Parade celebrated annually on June 28th.
